The Study of God’s Word is an important aspect of Providence Academy. There are several reasons why we take this subject matter seriously.

The Source of Strength

The word of God is the source from which believers derive their strength. It provides direction, hope, peace, and understanding to all who trust in Christ and apply Biblical precepts in their lives. The Apostle Paul, describing the power of the Bible, said: “All Scripture, divinely inspired, is profitable for teaching, for conviction, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16, 17).

Doctrine

Doctrine refers to teaching. During His ministry, men and women were amazed at Jesus’ words. He properly credited the heavenly Father as the source of His doctrine. Jesus declared, “My doctrine is not mine, but his who sent me. If anyone’s will is to do God’s will, he will know whether the teaching is from God, or whether I am speaking on my own authority” (John 7:16-18). Each follower of Christ should understand Christian doctrine and be able to apply it to their lives.

Service

Service in the cause of Christ is an important aspect of all believers. We should all have a willing heart to look for service opportunities, following what the Apostle Paul’s wrote, “As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good to all men, especially unto them who are of the househ

old of faith” (Galatians 6:10).

Each class at Providence Academy includes Bible study as part of the regular curriculum. Students are encouraged to read and discuss the Bible, memorize Bible verses, and share and defend their faith. It is our goal that our students leave Providence Academy with an understanding of having a relationship with Christ and being able to confidently express their faith to others.
