10 Years Strong

Providence Academy Celebrating 10 Years with background

We are here because of God’s good grace and his provision. As we celebrated 10 years as Providence Academy, we remember the formative moments from the past that help bring us to today.

Let’s start even earlier. In 1997, Dominion Academy opened. It was a thriving school of more than 200 students, but because of some missional changes at the sponsoring church, the school closed in the spring of 2013.

That same summer brought families together to envision a new school. Hundreds of people gathered in homes and backyards throughout Leesburg to pray and seek God’s will. “Does He want us to open a new place for students?” It was a pressing question as the fall narrowed in, but the message seemed to be a resounding, “Yes!”.

People immediately went to work, filing paperwork, securing a location, hiring teachers, and hoping… hoping that this step of faith would enable Leesburg families to join a community with the high calling of teaching children with a biblical worldview as the anchor.
