Service Learning
As we meditate on scripture, we see clearly that Jesus Christ came to serve. There are countless examples of our Lord and Savior washing feet, caring for the sick, serving those who are in need. As it states in Mark 10:45, “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.” As Christians, we too are called to serve. At Providence Academy we strive to be servant leaders in our school, in our communities, and anywhere the Lord leads us. Providence Academy embraces service-learning as a way to connect classroom learning with service opportunities in the community. A robust service-learning program brings great purpose, intentionality, and engagement as the students take what they are learning in the classroom and bring it to life in the community. The goal is to equip students to apply what they are learning in a real life setting, to cultivate relationships with those being served, to develop new skills and abilities, to be reflective about the impact of serving, and to engage in God’s appointed good works of service.
