Providence Academy FCA: Record Attendance at First Meeting

Encouraging Student Athletes in Faith

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) is an international sports ministry that impacts the world for Jesus Christ. Through our Providence Academy FCA huddle, middle school students gather to grow in faith, leadership, and fellowship.

Recently, our middle school campus hosted its first FCA meeting of the new school year. We celebrated a record attendance of 43 students from grades six through eight!

Grounded in God’s Plan and Proverbs 3:5-6

During the meeting, students participated in prayer and an encouraging back-to-school devotion. Specifically, the lesson challenged students to avoid becoming complacent in their walk with God.

In addition, students reflected on how God’s plan may differ from what we pray or ask for in life. This message connects directly to our Annual Bible Verse, Proverbs 3:5-6. For example, we learn to trust the Lord with all our hearts rather than relying on our own understanding. Even when plans change, God leads us exactly where we need to go.

Fun, Games, and Future Meetings

Along with spiritual growth, the meeting featured an intense game of rock, paper, scissors. Consequently, the fun tournament came down to an exciting final match between one boy and one girl. Ultimately, the boys’ side claimed the victory before everyone closed the morning in prayer.
