Faith Beyond the Classroom: Providence Academy Students Serve Near and Far

Education should involve more than just textbooks and tests. For families seeking a better school experience, Providence Academy offers a unique path. Recently, the school launched its annual Middle School Missions Week. This event allows students to live out their faith through tangible service. Consequently, the entire community witnessed the power of Christ-centered leadership in action.

Cultivating Servant Leaders

Providence Academy aims to equip students with Truth and uncompromising excellence. During this special week, the “Portrait of a Graduate” came to life. Students acted as Friendship Makers, Knowledge Seekers, and Kingdom Builders. They served with humility and compassion. Furthermore, they developed a lifelong posture of servant leadership. This experience deeply impacted both the students and the adults who joined them.

Serving the Loudoun County Community

The Local Mission Team included students from grades five through eight. These students partnered with several vital organizations. Specifically, they created handmade toiletry bags for Tree of Life. They also performed trail work and restoration at Furnace Mountain Camp. Additionally, students welcomed veterans at Dulles International Airport for the Honor Flight. They also visited nursing homes and prepared kits for Operation Christmas Child. As a result, local families felt the warmth of God’s love.

Supporting National Recovery Efforts

Meanwhile, the seventh-grade team traveled to Black Mountain, North Carolina. They partnered with Adventures in Missions to support hurricane recovery. These students demonstrated incredible resilience during long days of painting and building. Even with cold showers and hard work, their joy remained constant. They walked alongside families who were rebuilding their lives. Thus, they showed that compassion knows no borders.

Impacting Global Communities

The eighth-grade team flew to Puerto Rico to serve the community of Cantera. These students worked with incredible dedication to reconstruct a community gazebo. They also painted homes and worshiped with local church members. Despite travel delays and high heat, God’s faithfulness was evident. The journey was truly transformational for everyone involved. Most importantly, the trip focused entirely on the glory of Jesus.
