Providence Academy Reflects on 9/11: Honor, Prayer, and Hope

Honoring the 25th Anniversary of 9/11

Today, our school community paused to mark the 25th anniversary of September 11th. Through our Providence Academy 9/11 reflection, we honor the brave lives lost and the incredible courage of first responders. Most importantly, we hold fast to our sacred promise to never forget.

Early this morning, our faculty and staff began the day with solemn reverence. Together, our team lowered the United States flag to half-staff. Afterward, teachers and staff gathered in the front lobby in memory and prayer for our nation.

Guiding Our Junior Kindergarten Through 8th Grade Students

As a Junior Kindergarten through 8th grade school, our students grow younger and younger relative to history. In fact, none of our current students were alive when these events occurred 25 years ago.

Our incredible faculty navigates these delicate conversations in age-appropriate ways. For example, teachers focus on the power of unity, the bravery of heroes, and God’s enduring love.

Grounded in Proverbs 3:5-6

Even in times of national tragedy, our faith reminds us where our ultimate hope lies. Furthermore, this day connects directly to our Annual Bible Verse, Proverbs 3:5-6. Specifically, we teach our students to trust in the Lord with all their hearts when facing uncertainty.

As a school, this spiritual truth is tied into everything we do throughout the year. Ultimately, our Providence Academy 9/11 reflection points our young students toward God’s peace and loving guidance. We stand united in prayer as we honor our country and nurture the next generation.
