Major Upgrades Complete: Providence Academy Gym Reopens with Resurfaced Floors and High-Spec LED Lighting
Students kicked off the school year enjoying fresh air and sunshine during outdoor Physical Education classes for week one. Exciting transformations were wrapping up inside the gym. The Providence Academy Gym renovation is officially complete, delivering a brighter, safer, and top-tier facility for athletics, fitness, and school spirit.
Deep Hardwood Floor Resurfacing Transforms the Main Court
The centerpiece of this summer’s makeover is the complete restoration of the main court. Over the break, the hardwood floors underwent a deep resurfacing. A comprehensive treatment the facility has not seen in years.
To ensure the best finish possible for Providence Academy Gym renovation, the crew stripped back years of wear, meticulously sanded the wood, and applied a premium protective finish. Then to complete the court’s transformation, team members painted crisp, modern lines to give the floor a sharp, professional finish ready for action.

High-Spec LED Lighting Enhances Competitive Play
To complement the fresh court surface, installation teams added a state-of-the-art LED lighting system overhead. This upgrade significantly boosts overall visibility throughout the facility.
Importantly, the new fixtures bring the room’s illumination directly up to modern specifications required for high-level competitive games. Whether hosting matchups or fast-paced PE games, athletes will benefit from this improved visibility.
PE Classes Move Inside the Bright, Shiny Gym
Holding outdoor PE classes during the first week of school provided contractors with the final window needed to polish off every detail. Consequently, the space is fully prepared to welcome students back indoors.

“We are thrilled to get back inside our bright and shiny gym,” said Mike Solomon (Athletic Director) “These long-overdue upgrades will make a noticeable difference for our students and competitive teams alike.”
