Providence Academy Spanish Studio: Hands-On Language Learning

Mystery Names in First Grade

Our first graders recently enjoyed an interactive mystery during Spanish class. Through our Providence Academy Spanish program, young learners connect new vocabulary to hands-on discovery.

Students used watercolors to reveal names written in secret on their paper. This sensory activity gave children a fun reason to practice asking “¿Cómo te llamas?” and “¿Cuál es tu nombre?” Afterward, students revealed their hidden names while responding with “Me llamo…” in conversation.

Colorful Discoveries in Second Grade

Meanwhile, our second graders stepped into a colorful world of language learning. The class celebrated La fiesta de los colores to explore Spanish color words.

Through playful activities, students connected color vocabulary directly to the world around them. For example, these vibrant discoveries helped children build confidence and enthusiasm while speaking Spanish.

Creative Animals in Sixth Grade

Our sixth graders brought imaginative designs into their language practice this week. The students created unique, unusual animals and described different body parts in Spanish.

Using the verb tiene (has), sixth graders described the creatures they designed themselves. In addition, sharing these inventive animals gave students a meaningful purpose for practicing their speaking skills.

Our Providence Academy Spanish program helps students embrace language through creativity, curiosity, and joy!
